Anna Francis
Standing Room Curator in Residence 9th July - 30th August

Anna Francis is a Fine Arts Practitioner and Lecturer in BA Fine Art at Staffordshire University. Her current research interests include the role of art and culture in urban regeneration, and investigation into private space in the public forum.

During her residency, Francis will deliver WLTM - a dating agency for works of art.

This June, WLTM has invited submissions of works that are representative of each individual's identity as an artist. Using impartial dating agency pairing methods, such as questionnaires, WLTM will now find the perfect partner for each work of art, bringing together 6 'perfect pairs' for an exhibition taking place at Standing Room on August 30th.

'WLTM is a curatorial investigation into a new way of selecting and exhibiting art works which removes the personal, subjective thoughts and feelings of the Curator, using statistical data alone to select and pair works of art for an exhibition.'
